Lennox Continues to Lead the Industry
Selected by the Department of Energy to supply high efficiency RTUs
DALLAS, TX — May 18, 2004 — Lennox Industries' L Series® rooftop units were selected by the Department of Energy (DOE) in a Request for Proposals (RFP) calling for the best packaged high-efficiency air conditioning equipment for low-rise commercial style government buildings in the 65,000 to 135,000 Btu/h cooling capacity range.
Selections were based on lifecycle cost, taking into account both initial price and annual energy consumption estimated from manufacturers’ performance data using a cost estimating approach developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL).
The RFP was created in order to help non-federal buyers, including state and local government agencies, institutional facilities, and private companies acquire energy-efficient air conditioners at minimum life cycle cost.
