DALLAS, TX — August 23, 2004 — Now everyone knows L Series® rooftop units from Lennox are worth their weight in gold. The units were selected for the Gold medal in the 2004 Dealer Design Awards (Commercial HVAC Equipment category) sponsored by Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News (The News).
An independent panel of dealer-contractors selected by the magazine judged the rooftop units the best in their category for contractor-friendly design. Points were awarded based on design features that assist with installation, maintenance and service as well as quality and performance. More than 150 products were judged in this year's Dealer Design Awards.
Reporters for The News say judges appreciated that L Series rooftop units are designed for simple installation, reducing the need for extensive training. The units help contractors save time and money with features including large, hinged tool-less panels that give easy access to critical components as well as the Integrated Modular Controller's (IMC) easy-to-read LED display that simplifies troubleshooting. The units also earned high marks by offering a wide range of factory-installed options that allow contractors to order custom built models for a variety of different applications.
Another valuable feature that's available on L Series units is the Humiditrol® dehumidification system. This factory installed option features a patented hot gas reheat design that allows the unit to accurately control both temperature and humidity levels. Contractors liked the benefits of the Humiditrol system, and one judge pointed out that the L Series unit "is a very innovative product for situations that require higher-than-normal humidity removal. For this specific condition, it's a cost-effective solution."
John Whinery, Director of Commercial Marketing at Lennox International Inc. says, "The L Series rooftop units were engineered to perform virtually trouble-free for years so contractors are free to concentrate on future projects, not on maintaining past ones.
L Series rooftop units are available in 3- to 30-ton gas-electric, electric-electric and heat pump models. For more information on L Series rooftop units, please visit www.lennox.com.
